Digital VideoCAM support website had this bit but it may apply to other cameras too. Note that this seems to imply that their cameras works with White Pine 3.1.x When you get the error message "Capture Device was not detected" when you run White Pine CU-See Me here's what to do to get White Pine CU-See-Me to detect the camera
Press the Test Setup button and then choose the Test Video tab. Select Microsoft WDM Image Capture as your capture device.
The Kensington USB VideoCAM installs two sets of drivers, but only one of them is compatible with White Pine CU-SeeMe. To select the proper set of drivers follow these steps;
- Click on the My Computer icon
- Click on Control Panel
- Select the Multimedia icon
- Choose the Devices tab
- From the Devices list, choose Video Capture Devices
- At this point you will see drivers for each camera or video capture card you
own, double-click on the one called WDM Image Capture and place a check mark in
the box labeled 'Use this video capture device.' You will be informed that you
will need to restart your computer before this settings change will take place,
click OK to get out of this warning window, but do not shut down yet. Make sure to click
on Apply and OK to close out of the Microsoft WDM Image Capture Properties window!
- Double-click in the Device listed as Aox DirectX->VfW Video Capture Driver and
make sure to check the box that states, 'Do not use this video capture device.' You will
get the same warning about restarting your computer, and you will need to hit both Apply
and OK again.
